Game Night

So this week we had game night, and I got to host it in our new house. The food was really good, my friend brought mole' which is a traditional  Mexican meal, that I haven't had in years. Another friend brought margarita and strawberry cupcakes. I'm so mad that I didn't get pictures of food before we ate it all.

Brody getting ready for everyone to show up and helping me out in the kitchen. By the way if you really want to get unpacked in record time host a party the weekend after you move.

Scott volunteered for the elephant game first and was really bad at it. It took him a little while to get a good rhythm and knock down the cups. So many laughs from this game, I would definitively do it again.

The non-participants sat on the couch. haha

Ely gave it a try and did pretty well.

Oreo on the forehead. This game was harder than it looked and was kind of messy.  I must have gone through a box of Oreo everyone kept dropping them.

Brett was victorious

I didn't get any photos of the other game called  junk in the trunk but it was pretty awesome too. Afterwards, everyone split up to play card games and eat. I am so blessed to have met such good friends here in the UK, I love these guys and they like family to us.

Didn't I just move?

Yes!!! I was really looking forward to this move because it was into a bigger house on base. The kids are excited to have larger bedrooms, and I am so glad that we had an open living/dinning area. I am so glad that I have an American washer and dryer!! We also have a garage that we can actually park in.

The kids get to sleep in almost an extra hour since the schools are within walking distance.

The only downside is living like this for a little while until we get unpacked.

As usual the TV and speakers are the first thing to get opened.

Tea Time

Ive been having tea for years; it all started with all my stuffed animals and my dog Cleo. I can't think of any little girl who didn't have a tea set and sat amongst stuffed animals and pretended to have tea. My daughter had about 3 tea sets and I melt to pieces when I see a cute tea pot.
But I never thought that as a grown up I'd be having a proper tea in England.

A few ladies and I went out for tea, at a tea house called Peacocks And I could not resist the hot chocolate, they really know how to serve it up. We had scones, sandwiches, jellies, and just about anything you can imagine. I must come back with my daughter just the two of us, I can't let her go back to the states without trying out some English tea.

These dishes are so cute.
The hot chocolate had a small chocolate on top in the shape of a teapot.

The restaurant's theme is so cute and quaint, it's like you're  in someone's home and sitting in there kitchen.

This was a ham and cheese sandwich and it had the best cheese I've ever eaten.
If you ever get a chance to travel to England find a tea house and cross it off your bucket list; even if it wasn't on your list. It's a must do!

Valentines Day

A few days before Valentine's day I attended a wine and design held by wives club on base and it was so much fun. I think I did a pretty good job on my picture especially since there was no teacher. Not the mention the was and appetizer's were delicious.

Valentines day is not really a big anticipated holiday for us we often just go out to dinner or get ourselves a little something. I love my husband and really don't need a gift or expensive flowers we've been together a long time. I was completely surprised when he came home with these beautiful flowers. I usually get mad when he spends his money on flowers that will just die in a few days, but since we have no garden and I can't very plant anything since we are not going to be in this home much longer it was ok.

Later that night we met some friends for dinner, and drinks. And boy did I have fun! I haven't danced like that in a long time. It felt 19 yrs old again and then the next morning I felt a lot older than 19.

Happy Valentines day!!

A little bit of home.

I have been craving American cuisine for a while now. Anything besides Burger King and Taco Bell will do.

A couple of week ago we went to Norwich to eat at TGIFriday's, we got a little lost but finally made it. Parked at a shopping center nearby and walked the rest of the way. As is often the case, in England you can't just pull up and find parking and when you finally find it, it's not free.

My handsome son came with us.

We found an area in Norwich that has some American restaurants near an I-Max theater and it's often frequented by football fans that come to eat from a nearby field on the other side of this bridge and down a few blocks.

We came all this way and ended up eating Mexican food at a place called Chiquito. The food was really yummy.

And of course had some ice cream to top the afternoon.

Next time I'll try TGIF.

Stars and Hero's day

This past weekend we took a trip to Madame Tussauds in London and then walked around Oxford Circus. So glad we waited until now to visit, there were no crowds and we were able to enjoy ourselves.
This is the BBC in London.

Leonardo was one of the tallest figures on display.

The Beckham's, David Beckham is in the museum twice.

Sadly,  this may be the closest Sydney will ever get to One Direction

Her favorite Nile! I wonder in a few years if she'll still be fan or if this will be an embarrassing moment.
