Moores Creek National Battlefield

This past weekend we took to kids to Moores Creek National Battlefield to see the annual reenactment of the battle that took place between the British and North Carolina loyalist in 1776. It was about 20 minutes outside of Wilmington, we've been here for several years and this was the first time we have gone. It was a very nice park it's very clean a lot of families brought there own food and were having a picnic.

They had a few tents on display and I am sure glad that I didn't have to sleep in those, they slept on straw and a couple of blankets that is all they had.

The cannons were very loud and Brody was trying his best to cover his ears.

This picture was taken on the bridge between the creek where the battle took place it's amazing how close you had to be to fight the enemy.

This lady was demonstrating how they used to spin wool to make there clothes. She explained how the farmers were expected to send all their to cotton to Britain for free and they would turn the cotton into fabric that would be sold back to the farmers for high prices and taxed so high most farmers couldn't afford it.

Brody with a historic rock, so I had to take it home.

Brody aka "Anakin Skywalker" fighting clones
