Dowtown Wilmington

Last Sunday we took a ride to Wilmington, we thought it would be the last nice day, until spring. Although, we have been to Wilmington several times this was the first time we've been downtown. It was so beautiful all the old buildings and Spanish moss made it felt like I was back home.

This is the corner of Water St and Market.

This picture was taken at the Cotton Exchange a refurbished area that is now full of shops and restaurants.

For lunch we ate at Paddys Hallow, it was really Yummy.

We sat on the deck outside and took in all the nice warm weather.

perfect place to eat with a messy little boy. I thought it was funny that on their menu they had shrimp po-boys with cheddar cheese. And they were playing Zydeco music and Fats Domino like I said, it felt like home.

Brody was trying to get water out of here but it didn't work.

Wilmington NC

These are pictures were taken on Wrightsville Beach in Wilmington. I love going to the beach not so much for swimming but for walking and looking for shells. After a nice day downtown we decided to take a stroll on the beach with the kids but, they didn't feel much like swimming. The water was pretty cold after all it's November.

This was a good picture except we were facing the sun and I should have worn my sun glasses.

I really love this picture I took of Sydney. I am definitely going to frame this one.

And this was pretty good too, considering he can't stand still.

Besides being on the look out for sharks ( he saw Jaws this summer), he loves to throw every single rock back into the ocean.

I just love baby feet!!!

Before we know it she will be as tall as her daddy!!!!

What a great day we had.

Halloween

Halloween was fun this year! Brody picked out his own costume and let me tell you, once he put it on he really thought he was batman.
It was so much fun watching him run around holding his cape and saying I'm awesome.

Here is batman and Hermione Granger from Harry Potter.

One of Sydney's friend came over early

You don't see this every day.

Mick's favorite part about Halloween is giving out the candy. He makes the kids tell him trick-or-treat before he gives them candy- he should have been a drill sergeant. I think if he could give each kid whole bag of candy, he would.

Sydney and some of her friends stop by to get some treats

Brody's bag was almost as big as him as soon as he got candy he would tell me "you hold it" and when he saw someone giving out "tandy" he say "gimme my bag. "

Batman was exhausted.

This is how he fell asleep on the couch.

Thriller Night

Last Saturday Sydney's school participated in Thrill the World 2009. Remember I said I have been a taxi driver all month, well this was another extra activity that she was involved in. 98 students stayed after school a couple days a week to learn the dance. It was pretty nice except by the time they started a lot of her make-up had come off. She and her friends did a great job and who knows maybe one day she will dance to Thriller in her wedding.
Be sure to check out the You Tube video I included on the blog

Why in the world did they put her all the way in the back. I keep telling Mick I need a telephoto zoom lens.

That big mouth reminds me of someone. Hmmm

Soccer mom

Never did I think I would actually be a "soccer mom" but here I am. This whole month I have felt like a taxi driver- between the games every Saturday and two practices a week, I am ready for this season to be over. Thankfully only one more game and she will be done. Don't get me wrong, I enjoyed going to the games most of the time but I don't think I am cut out for this. I am not one of those moms who yells on the sidelines at their kid or yells at the ref to open his freaking eyes, I don't even know what is going on most of the time. I just show up with my lawn chair and umbrella (it has rained at every single game) and wait for the game to be over. Oh well, at least I am not just dropping her off and going to the mall or something.

Here she is practicing hitting the ball with her knee

and this is as close as I could get to taking a picture without being yelled at.

Here she kicked the ball away, she is good defensive player.
Just for the record, she does not like soccer as much as softball this may be the last time she plays soccer.
