First visit to the dentist

I really thought this was going to be hard since he hates getting his teeth brushed. Brody did great at first he just looked at her like-- I don't know about this. But then once she showed him all the equipment and let him feel the toothbrush, on his finger he was fine.

Looking a little nervous

he kept saying "this really tickles"

no cavities

when it was all over he got a toy and light up toothbrush. Which Brody  said "this is awesome." I am so proud of my little man

Mustang Troubles

A couple of weeks ago my husband  was making some head way on his Mustang project.

even Brody was having Mustang dreams.

Then---

the car caught fire,

yep,

fire department came out, friends lent a hand, but the damage was still done.

The good news is that the engine is fine and the car can be repaired. God help me!
All Mick has ever wanted is a Mustang that he work on. He took one step forward and now about 3 steps back.

Cheyenne Mt Zoo

On our last day we took the kids to Cheyenne Mt Zoo, the only mountain zoo in the United States. It was the coldest day of our trip so with all the walking it was pleasant. The best exhibit is the giraffes they come right up to you and eat our of your hand or in this case Mick's hand because, I was too chicken.

Plenty of room for him to run

For some reason Sydney was trying to look for the mountain lions that were right next to her.

Chipmunks were all over the place

and Brody finally found his bears!! Brody loves bears so, this was favorite thing at the zoo.

After a full morning of the zoo we decide to go back to Manitou Springs and get some lunch, walk around shop and eat some popcorn and lemonade.

We tried to soak in as much of the scenery as we could before heading to Ft. Carson so Brody could play at the playground. We finished off our night eating at a restaurant that had a bear theme, and  the food was great and Brody thought he was eating bear.

These stones and fools gold are all over the shops downtown.

Memorial Park

This is Memorial Park and the kids had a great time playing here. I remember years ago when we used to come here and hang out with our friends. I can almost hear the Will Smith song "Summer time".

The park has everything that you'd ever want to do.

This park is so beautiful in the winter with the lake frozen over and every tree covered in snow.

I can't believe how close the geese and ducks let us get. I guess they are used to people.

There is a weird guy in a homemade boat behind us. Who knew a couple of barrels and a small motor is all you need.

Brody was having a blast and did not want to leave

We had fun taking pictures on this tree

coming down was easier than going up.

The Royal Gorge

The Royal Gorge is located just outside of the springs in Canon City and it has some beautiful scenery. The only change was that you can no longer feed the deer outside the gates.

This pictures was taken from the top of the bridge

Another shot from the top

Brody looking in between the cracks down to the river below.

I love this shot

We took an incline train to the bottom of the gorge

view of the bridge from the bottom

after all that, it was time for some ice cream
