From our bus tour

From the top of the tour bus, we had a great view of the city. One can keep coming back over and over again, and find something new to see.

This is Castel Sant' Angelo, was once the tallest building in Rome. It was commissioned by Emperor Hadrain as a mausoleum for himself and his family. Unfortunately, we were not able to visit on this day, because we had other plans.

And here's another photo of the Castel Sant' Angelo next to the Tiber river.

Just across a road, we caught a glimpse of the St Peter's Basilica.

Be sure to purchase a bus tour ticket, from one of the companies that offers more than one day. We had a three day pass, but were only able to use two days. We rode the bus and got off in various locations, it was one of the smartest things we did. We didn't have to find a cab or walk 5 miles to the Vatican.
